Reading text

On Saturday afternoon, the community center opened its doors for a small “Clean-Up Day”. Many students came with gloves and bags. The goal was simple: collect litter in the streets near the market and make the area safer. At first, some teenagers laughed and said, “It’s not our job.” But Mrs. Joseph, the coordinator, calmly replied, “If we all wait for someone else, nothing will change.” Her words made a few students stop and think. They joined the group and started working. After one hour, the difference was clear. The sidewalks looked better, and the smell near the corner was gone. A shop owner offered water to the volunteers and thanked them. Later, a little boy pointed to a broken bottle and warned his sister to be careful. The clean streets became a lesson for everyone: when people act together, they protect their community and their future.
