Reading text

When the new school year began, Lina was nervous. She had changed schools because her family moved to a different neighborhood. On the first day, everything felt strange: new classrooms, new teachers, and unfamiliar faces. Lina decided to stay quiet and sit alone during the break. Two days later, the English teacher announced a small project. Each student had to work with a partner and prepare a short presentation about a useful habit for students. Lina worried because she didn’t know anyone well. But then a classmate named Rose smiled and said, “You can work with me if you want.” Lina accepted with relief. After class, they met in the library. Rose listened to Lina’s ideas and helped her organize them. Lina realized that she was not alone anymore. On presentation day, Lina spoke clearly. When she finished, the teacher said, “Good job! Your example was simple and strong.” Lina left the classroom feeling lighter. She learned that a friendly gesture can change a difficult beginning into a better story.
