Reading text

Last Friday, a new student arrived in class. His name is Jonas. He is quiet, but he pays attention and writes neatly in his notebook. During the break, some students wanted to know him, but they did not ask questions. They only looked at him and smiled. After school, Jonas waited near the gate. He did not have a phone and he did not know the neighborhood well. Marie, a classmate, noticed that he looked worried. She asked him if he needed help. Jonas explained that he was looking for the bus stop, but he was not sure which direction to take. Marie did not laugh. She walked with him and showed him the right road. On the way, they talked about school and sports. Jonas said he liked football, but he had no team yet. Marie told him about a small team that trains on Wednesdays. Jonas smiled and thanked her. That day, he learned that a simple conversation can change someone’s first day.
